The historic World War II plane from Missoula has finally made its way back to Montana after a trip to the 75th-anniversary ceremony of “D-Day” in Portsmouth, England.

The“Miss Montana to Normandy Project” posted these photos on their Facebook page Sunday announcing their return to Big Sky Country.

The crew touched down in Billings on Sunday evening after flying the skies over the French coastline where thousands gathered to watch the D-Day spectacle earlier this month.

Parker Heser of Edwards Jet Center said Monday morning the plane will be available to the public in Billings for walk-throughs and pictures starting at about 8:30 a.m. Monday. The crew and plane will remain until about 1 p.m. before taking off for their final leg home to Missoula.
