It was a happier ending to a sad accident this week in Montana.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Laramie Stefani sent out this photo from his partner, Trooper Jon Raymond, while they were patrolling in western Montana.
A vehicle had hit a deer, killing the doe, and leaving her fawn behind.
Raymond responded to the crash and rescued the young fawn, nestling it safely in the back of his patrol car.
No word on the condition of the fawn Friday night, but it’s in the care of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
My partner tonight, Trooper Raymond, responded to a car deer crash. Sadly the mama deer passed away but Trooper Raymond was able to help rescue her little fawn. #Fawn #wildlife #animalrescue pic.twitter.com/w1s4uoPfwx
