It was quite the day for Jetta the dog.
She was in a kennel in the back of her owner’s truck when it was stolen in Butte earlier Monday, according to the Great Falls Police Department.
After reaching Great Falls, the suspect in the car theft let Jetta out of her kennel. A community member saw her running and contained her for Animal Control.
Animal Control Officer Staigmiller said she was glad Jetta was microchipped so they could call her owner immediately.
“He was so filled with joy he broke down in tears when he found out she was safe,” GFPD’s Facebook post reads.
The stolen truck was also recovered.
