The Plentywood High School volleyball team was involved in a bus versus car crash on Saturday.

According to Sheridan County Undersheriff Scott Nelson, the incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 258, which is commonly referred to as Reserve Highway.

Nelson said it appeared a passenger car made a left turn in front of the bus and the bus struck the car. The car caught fire, however, it was quickly extinguished.

Nelson stated the driver of the car was transported to the hospital. Some of the passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries, but they have been medically released at this time.

Plentywood Schools reported the volleyball team was traveling home after the Froid-Lake Invitational.

The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office turned the investigation over to the Montana Highway Patrol.
