A man died in a one-vehicle crash in Sheridan County in northeastern Montana early Friday.
The Montana Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at 4:25 a.m., and it happened near mile marker 2 along Highway 5, several miles east of Plentywood.
The MHP says the man was driving a 2004 Chevy Silverado when he apparently drifted off the road. The driver over-corrected, and the truck began to slip to the right and went into a field. The truck spun at least once and rolled across a gravel road and came to rest on the passenger side in a ditch.
The MHP does not believe that alcohol, drugs, or speed were factors in the crash.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the MHP Trooper who responded to the crash.
The name of the 27-year old man has not yet been released. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
We will update you if we get more information.
