Leetta Gobert owns an in-home dog rescue named Leetta’s Rez Dog Rescue Home just outside of the Blackfeet Reservation. She helps dogs find homes and takes in abused animals and nurses them back to health, and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are taking a toll on her efforts.

Gobert said she is running low on food for the dogs, and is soliciting donations to keep her operation going. “You know, everybody is out of work at least in the reservation people are having to choose between feeding their family or feeding their dog,” she said.

She also said that some people have been dropping their dogs off at her place because they are afraid of contracting COVID-19 from them - which is not true, as there is no evidence that the illness can spread by dogs.

You can donate to help at Billman’s in Cut Bank under "Leetta Rez Dog Rescue Donation Fund," or call 406-873-4123 for more information. You can also call Leetta at 406-873-0022, click here to visit the Facebook page, or email leettasrezdogrescuehome@gmail.com.
