The Montana Television Network’s (MTN) commitment to agriculture in the Treasure State takes a new step forward with daily reports during Montana This Morning and The Noon News.

MTN’s Montana Ag Network will be anchored by longtime ag reporters Russell Nemetz and Lane Nordlund along with Jason Laird. The farm and ranch reports can be seen on MTN stations across the state including KRTV Great Falls, KXLH Helena, KTVQ Billings, KBZK Bozeman, KXLF Butte, KAJ Kalispell, and KPAX Missoula.

The state’s leading industry paired with the leader in local news is a natural fit. Viewers have already enjoyed bi-weekly reports during The 10:00 News. Now they will receive the latest agriculture news and information from MTN’s team every weekday during Montana this Morning from 5:30 am – 7:00 am along with The Noon News.

Agriculture is the backbone of Montana, and MTN’s dedication to this way of life is unmatched.

Russell Nemetz, an award winning NAFB farm broadcaster, takes great pride in being one of agriculture’s biggest advocates. Raised along the Milk River near Chinook, Montana, production agriculture has always been part of his life. In fact, his family continues to run a cow / calf operation there.

He’s had the opportunity to report on agriculture from across the region, the United States and has been on trade missions to Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Russia and Taiwan. Nemetz lives with his family in Billings.

Lane Nordlund, born and raised in Central Montana, has been involved in production agriculture his entire life. He had the honor of being elected as the Montana FFA State President and was also the National FFA Officer Candidate for the State of Montana. While attending Montana State University-Bozeman he earned a degree in Agricultural Education-Relations. From there he began his career in agricultural media.

Being a young person involved in production agriculture and agriculture media he has a unique view of the industry. This view helps him make a personal connection with his audience whether that is in a packed convention hall or the local café.

Jason Laird, a Billings native, started his broadcasting career in radio. With a focus on the impact of weather on agriculture, Laird’s had a big fascination with storms since childhood. That interest continued with his education through Mississippi State University.

Montana Ag Network coverage can be seen online at any MTN website along with the Montana Ag Network Facebook page.
