The COVID-19 pandemic has been frustrating for a lot of people and it's also cut off a lot of outlets people have used to take out those frustrations.
There seems to be a lot of anger and pent up aggression in the world, luckily for Missoulians the newest entertainment option Unhinged offers the opportunity to get rid of some of that pent up aggression.
"We were discussing COVID and how upset and frustrated and isolated everyone felt, and how there [are] no real outlets," owner Nicole Goss said. "We were talking about how Missoula needed an outlet and she asked me 'have you heard of those smash rooms?' and I said 'one of those rage rooms'?'
Prices are per person. So, when you pick like -- let's say a Hissy Fit and you get a tub of breakables -- if you have three people that book you get three tubs of breakables," Goss explained.
People then get suited up in your protective gear including helmets with ear flaps and a screen. It's then time and take to one of the three rooms.
Unhinged opened this week and Goss said she understands the idea might take a little bit to catch on.
"It’s a brand new to here. So, I think it's going to take a little bit for people to be like ‘oh that’s what this is about.’ I can go release my stress anxiety and frustrations out in a constructive manner and leave the mess," she told MTN News.
All the breakable items in these rooms were donated and the owners want to give a big shout out to Home Resource which gave them items like printers and TVs. Additionally, some local bars provided glassware to break.
The time slots range between "irritable" -- which lasts 10 minutes and "Furious" -- which lasts 40 minutes.
