The annual 4th of July Parade in West Yellowstone has been canceled for this year, due to health and safety concerns during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In a press release, organizers say the firework display will take place on Saturday night.

Here's the press release:

Regrettably, under the advisement of the State of Montana and the Gallatin County Health Department, the West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce’s Fourth of July Committee has made the tough decision to cancel the 4th of July Parade.

Our number one priority is the health and safety of our Town residents, employees, and visitors.

Many community partners and organizations have canceled or postponed events that coincide with the parade over concerns for their members, due to the inability to effectively enforce social distancing. We also had to take into consideration that we are still under Governor Bullock’s Phase 2 plan, which limits gatherings to under 50 people.

We will still have our firework display at approximately 10:15 pm on Saturday night. We ask that you plan accordingly and allow for social distancing. Due to the nature of our firework display, and the size of our community, fireworks can be enjoyed from anywhere in Town. Please consider viewing them from your residence or the lodging property you are visiting.

We feel this is the best situation for the health of our local community and we want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support during this challenging time.
