Americans honored and remembered veterans all around the country on Saturday.
The Yellowstone National Cemetery held a ceremony as part of Wreaths Across America.
The tradition started in 1992 at the Arlington National Cemetery and now, veteran cemeteries nationwide hold the event at the same time, on the same day .
About 300 volunteers helped place 800 wreaths at the cemetery in Laurel.
"It's remembering our veterans," said Stephen McCollum, cemetery manager at Yellowstone National Cemetery . "It's letting them know that they'll never be forgotten and that what they did for this country and how they sacrificed for this country is never going to be forgotten."
In 2018, Americans placed 1.8 million wreaths.
