GALLATIN COUNTY — Ballots for the 2020 primary election went out on Friday.
The Gallatin County Clerk and Recorder’s Office announced in a press conference that more than 67,000 ballots went out.
As a reminder, this year’s primary election is an all-mail election.
The ballots will be postage prepaid, meaning you do not need to put a stamp on when you send your ballot in.
Polling places will be closed on June 2, but they will serve as a ballot drop-off centers until 8 p.m. on election day.
According to the Clerk and Recorder’s Office, the county courthouse will also serve as a drop-off station.
“We have the drive-through ballot drop off starting the week before the election to try and keep people from coming in. We often get lines of people dropping off ballots prior to an election. And so we’re going to have that again on the curb for the week prior starting on Wednesday, May 27,” said Eric Semerad, Gallatin County Clerk and Recorder.
Also, the late registration date has been moved during the COVID-19 pandemic. You now have until Wednesday, May 27 to register to vote.
