Man airlifted to Seattle hospital after being struck by vehicle in Butte

BUTTE — A man struck by a pickup truck Wednesday night in Butte remains in a Seattle hospital.

According to Butte-Silver Bow Undersheriff George Skuletich, A 57-year-old man is hospitalized after being struck by a truck on Montana Street in Butte Wednesday evening.

The man was taken to St. James Healthcare and then transported by helicopter to a hospital in Seattle.

Skuletich reported that the man was walking south on the right side of the road and wearing dark clothing about 7:30 p.m. when he was hit by a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup.

Police don't suspect the driver had been drinking and the incident remains under investigation.
