BOZEMAN — Various disaster resources and relief efforts have been made to help victims of the Bridger Foothills Fire, and not just people but their pets as well.

Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter is available to help anyone impacted by the fire who is in need of anything relating to their pets: food, leashes, bedding, even crates.

In fact, the shelter set up an emergency pet shelter at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds to hold any pets if someone is unable to take them to other housing accommodations.

“Anyone who has questions about what to do with their pets right now, if they’re still looking for their missing pets, just call us," said Kristin Sherwood from Heart of the Valley. "We’ll walk you through what resources we have, what other community organizations we can put you in touch with. If you need food, come on by.”

Heart of the Valley only handles dogs and cats. But the shelter still encourages people to call relating to any animal, as they can point you to many other resources.
