GALLATIN COUNTY — Give Big is a celebration of nonprofits in Gallatin Valley, dedicated to raising funds for organizations that work to strengthen the community.
This year, they raised over $1.7 million.
According to the Bozeman Area Community Foundation, the initiative raised over $400,000 more than last year.
Donations came from over 5,600 people and 195 different organizations.
This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has created a strain on many nonprofits and Give Big hopes to provide some extra support.
“Many organizations have had to cancel their revenue-generating programming, their annual fundraisers, many have had to furlough staff, to cut important programming that our community needs. So this year more importantly than ever, having an initiative like Give Big we think was just more important than ever,” said Bridget Wilkinson, executive director with the Bozeman Area Commuity Foundation.
