Gallatin Co. confirms COVID-19 related death (Feb. 11, 2021)

BOZEMAN — The Gallatin City-County Health Department confirmed Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, that one more Gallatin County resident has passed away from complications due to COVID-19.

The person was a man in his 90s who died at his residence in a long-term care facility the week of Feb. 2. The Gallatin City-County Health Department today received the official death certificate that attributed his death to COVID-19.

“The Health Department sends our condolences to this man’s family and friends,” said Matt Kelley, Gallatin City-County Health Department Health Officer. “The vaccine continues to come into Gallatin County in extremely limited supply. We ask everyone to do their part in helping to protect our most vulnerable citizens and prevent the spread of COVID-19 through continued social distancing, avoiding crowds, wearing face coverings, washing hands, and staying home when sick.”

This latest death makes for a total of 52 COVID-related deaths in Gallatin County. Data on statewide deaths reported by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services can be found here.

Out of respect for the man’s family, no further details will be released.
