UPDATE: Details released on fatal crash south of Gallatin Gateway Tuesday night

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, three vehicles were involved in a fatal crash Tuesday night, May 16 on U.S. Highway 191 at mile marker 71.

The driver of vehicle one, traveling northbound on US-191, reportedly lost control of the vehicle in the rain and collided with two other vehicles traveling southbound.

According to the Gallatin County Sheriff/Coroner, 29-year-old Deivin Roney Soto Baires was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol crash report, Baires was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

Multiple other individuals were reportedly transported to Bozeman Deaconess Regional Medical Center and are all in stable condition.

This is an ongoing investigation. The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office is assisting the Montana Highway Patrol in the investigation.

A deadly crash was reported south of Gallatin Gateway near mile marker 71 Tuesday night, May 16.

There is a confirmed fatality from the Montana Highway Patrol and unconfirmed reports of life flight being used.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office noted that for a time, both lanes were blocked with traffic being detoured.
