Manhattan man killed by passing vehicle while walking along Stagecoach Trail Road

A man walking along Stagecoach Trail Road Saturday night was struck and killed by a passing vehicle, according to Montana Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded to the incident around 7:25 p.m. Saturday. MHP said the 76-year-old Manhattan man was walking eastbound toward the edge of the road when he was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Impala traveling westbound.

The man was thrown over the car towards the north side of the ditch. The 35-year-old driver and 23-year-old passenger, both of Bozeman, were uninjured. The man died at the scene.

MHP said alcohol, drugs, and speed are suspected.

A fatal crash was reported in the Manhattan area Saturday night, according to the Montana Highway Patrol incident map.

MHP responded to the incident on Stagecoach Trail Road around 7:25 p.m. Saturday. The map places the crash near the intersection of Stagecoach Trail and Heeb Road.
