BOZEMAN — A Bozeman woman could face up to 20 years in prison after she reportedly threatened hospital staff with a knife on Monday evening.
Kristina L. Lanpher, 30, was seen in Gallatin County Justice Court on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 for felony assault with a weapon. Lanpher faces up to $50,000 in fines. In court, a prosecutor noted she has three past disorderly conduct misdemeanors for 2017, but no felony history.
According to charging documents, Bozeman Police officers responded to a disturbance call from Bozeman Health Deaconess Hospital at 5:15 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2020. When officers arrived, they found Lanpher standing outside the hospital near the helipad, reportedly holding a knife in her hand.
After being secured by officers, Lanpher admitted to being in possession of the knife and brandishing it toward hospital staff.
Hospital security guards stated the woman had tried to walk away from the hospital twice, but they were able to convince her to stay at the hospital, but Lanpher reportedly became angry after being requested to remove the knife out of her pocket. Lanpher allegedly got in an aggressive stance and brandished her knife.
Surveillance footage on the scene reportedly showed Lanpher holding a knife and acting in a threatening manner toward staff.
Her bail was set at $5,000 with the next court date being May 8.
