BOZEMAN — A lot of people haven’t seen or spent time with their family members because of social distancing and other safety precautions put in place. So what do you do for Mother’s Day when it falls in the middle of a pandemic?

Phones have been ringing off the hook at Budget Bouquets and More.

“Busiest week, it’s usually our busiest week. Valentine’s Day is our busiest day and Mother’s Day is our busiest week,” explained co-owner Samantha Stoffers.

The flower shop was able to open its doors right in time for Mother’s Day, and provide the perfect solution for showing love but upholding social distancing recommendations.

It came as a nice surprise to many mothers, even furry ones with a tail.

Though business is going well for the flower shop now, they’ve still faced challenges from this pandemic, as well.

“It’s been tough. We’ve had to go without pay and it definitely ate into our savings quite a bit. I mean, even if we’re not open, we still have to pay our rent and our bills and all of that,” Stoffers explained.

Currently, the shop is unable to take anymore orders because of the overwhelming support from the community.

“I’ve seen a lot of community growth: people making sure that they’re calling a local florist or a local business as opposed to calling the big chains, so I’ve seen a lot of community support and we’re just so grateful,” she said.

So you don’t have to have a physical interaction to make this Mother’s Day special, something as simple as sending flowers or a heartfelt call can go a long way.
