BIG SKY — The Yellowstone Club and Big Sky Ski Patrols hosted a pint night at the Beehive Basin Brewery on Monday to support the Darren Johnson Memorial Fund.

Darren Johnson was a Yellowstone Club ski patrol member who died in an avalanche in 2016.

The memorial fund gives scholarships to send patrollers to the National Avalanche School, to provide professionals with the skills they need in avalanche education and snow science.

“It’s great to get community support that goes towards these scholarships because the community uses these resources,” said Alex Marienthal at the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center. “Whether it’s the ski hills or or the avalanche center, and I think they really respect the ski patrollers and forecasters and really appreciate the product that they provide for the community.”

One dollar from every pint sale went towards the Darren Johnson Memorial Fund.
