A 76-year-old Arizona man died in a motorcycle crash on Sunda, south of Belfry on Highway 72.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 4:53 p.m. Sunday.

MHP dispatch said the man was trying to negotiate a curve when his Harley-Davidson left the road and collided with a guardrail.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators reported speed was a possible factor, and it didn’t appear he was wearing a helmet.

No one else was involved or injured in the crash.

Red Lodge, the county seat of Carbon County, hosted the 26th Annual Beartooth Rally over the weekend, which is recognized as the state's largest motorcycle rally. It's unclear if the victim was in Carbon County for the weekend's events.

The man's name has not yet been released by authorities.
