Area high schools issue COVID-19 warning letters

BOZEMAN — Families with students at Gallatin and Bozeman High Schools are reportedly getting a letter from the Gallatin City-County Health Department saying there is a COVID-19 case in the school.

Any students or staff who were identified as a close contact have already been contacted.

Belgrade families received the same letter Wednesday, with an alert about one case at the high school.

Thursday marked a new daily high of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Montana with 333 cases reported. The state reported 323 on Friday.

On Thursday, Gallatin County reported 34 new confirmed cases with 116 active cases. Three people are hospitalized with the infection.

The Butte Silver-Bow Health Department confirmed 17 new cases on Thursday with total cases up to 248. An estimated 212 people in Butte-Silver Bow are currently quarantined and being tested.
