Starting this week, a major roadway connecting downtown Bozeman to Bozeman Health Deaconess Hospital will be under heavy construction.
And sit tight — it will be a long one.
Highland Boulevard will be closed between East Main Street and East Curtiss Street for road improvements, beginning Monday.
Crews will be adding new turn lanes and walkways.
But the construction itself isn’t expected to be done until the beginning of August.
City engineers say this update is well-needed.
“Due to the development in the area and also the hospital making additions, the improvement will increase the capacity of the intersection with Main Street,” says Kellen Gamradt, an engineer with the City of Bozeman.
City officials say detours will be from Haggerty and Ellis Street and will help traffic access Highland Boulevard during this project.
