Monday night, law enforcement in Bozeman was searching for an eight-year-old girl who never came home from school.
According to Gallatin County Captain Don Peterson, at first officers thought the girl from Longfellow Elementary didn’t make a bus transfer at Bozeman High School. Once they got confirmation that the girl did make the transfer, a search and rescue team then went to Hyalite Elementary to search the area of the Cascade and Sanders bus stop.
The girl was located on North 22nd shortly after the search began at Hyalite. Police say she had gotten off at the wrong stop.
The girl is reportedly now safe and with her mother.
