Rouse Avenue to undergo ‘multi-million dollar’ construction, delays expected

Posted

A multi-million dollar construction project is underway in downtown Bozeman as of Monday.

The Montana Department of Transportation started a utility relocation project underneath Rouse Avenue as part of a $9 million plan to help the city grow, widening a portion of Rouse between Oak and Main Street.

To do that, crews from MDOT and  Northwestern Energy have to move old gas lines, and will have to close down a portion of roadway between Oak Street and Main Street.

Department officials say drivers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes while work continues on the side streets — but Main Street will not be affected.

Both agencies say the project is slated to take about four weeks.
