BOZEMAN, Mont. – On Saturday night, the predictions of Montana State University officials became reality — the roof of the North Gym of the Marga Hosaeus Fitness Center collapsed, two days after the roof of the South gym gave way.
The North Gym roof completely caved in around 7 p.m. Saturday night. MSU issued a statement confirming that the event was expected.
As predicted, the roof of the North Gym of the Marga Hosaeus Fitness Center has collapsed. There were no injuries. The scene had been previously cordoned off for safety.
On Friday, after Thursday’s collapse of the South gym roof, MSU said the second gym roof was likely to fail, though officials couldn’t predict when it would happen.
The university made efforts to ensure the public’s safety as it anticipated the roof cave-in. Grant Street, which sits just to the north of the building, was closed down and the building’s utilities were isolated.
No one was injured in the incident.
