YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — First Lady Melania Trump didn’t get to see Old Faithful Friday.

That’s because her scheduled visit to Yellowstone National Park was canceled at the last minute.

A Secret Service spokesperson told MTN the reason is the weather. Snow rolled into the park about 9 am and while that wouldn’t have stopped the First Lady’s motorcade from Grand Teton National Park, where she appeared this morning, it did threaten to ground her plane in West Yellowstone.

Snow squalls rolled through the Old Faithful complex throughout midday when the First Lady was scheduled to visit. Visitors who don’t require bodyguards bundled up and waited for Old Faithful to erupt.

Had she been able to make it to the park, Melania Trump would have encouraged school children to spend more time in the out of doors and visit America’s National parks. It’s part of the First Lady’s “Be Best” initiative.
