Fire managers report that the Magpie Rock Fire burning near Dixon has grown to 3,100 acres and remains 0% contained.

The blaze is continuing to consume small pockets of unburned trees and vegetation inside the fire’s perimeter.

Aircraft are continuing to play a critical role in firefighting efforts due to steep and inaccessible terrain with helicopters dropping water to cool hot spots.

Firefighters are working on the east side of the fire to prevent the fire from moving farther towards Revais Creek drainage.

There are 305 people assigned to the Magpie Rock Fire. There are no evacuations in place and no structures are currently being threatened.

The D-6000 road between Revais and Magpie and Magpie D-5000 road are closed.
