BILLINGS - Billings police on Wednesday release a photo of the suspect wanted for stealing an Uber Eats car with a child inside from a downtown restaurant.

Lt. Brandon Wooley said the suspect is described as a Native American male in his 20s or 30s, but other information such as his height and weight were not known other than what the photo shows.

The theft occurred Saturday at about 6 p.m. at the downtown Burger King when an Uber Eats driver went inside the restaurant to pick up an order and left his 7-year-old son in the car parked outside.

The car was stolen from the parking lot, and the child was released on Clark Avenue shortly after the theft. The boy sought help at a residence and was reunited with his father.

A short time later police located the stolen car near Pioneer Park and engaged in a pursuit, but the fleeing driver eluded officers in traffic.

The stolen car was located Sunday morning in Lame Deer, but the suspect has remained at large. Anyone with information about his identity is asked to call the police department at 657-8460.
