MISSOULA — The man involved in a standoff with Missoula law enforcement on Thursday evening standoff has been identified.

Louis Momberg, 54, is currently behind bars at the Missoula County Detention Facility following Thursday’s incident.

The standoff occurred on the 4700 block of Sage Street, which is near Reserve and Broadway streets on Missoula's west side.

It began around 3:45 p.m. when Missoula County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence for a report of a disturbance.

The disturbance involved an assault with a weapon that is believed to have left one person injured.

Momberg barricaded himself in the home, resulting in several hours of negotiations with authorities.

He surrendered peacefully at 7:50 p.m. and was taken into custody without incident.
