Lincoln County's Ranch for Kids facing lawsuit

A Virginia family is suing the controversial Ranch for Kids in Rexford.

According to court documents, a Virginia family enrolled their daughter in Ranch for Kids for treatment for Reactive Attachment Disorder.

The program’s website states: “Ranch for kids serves as a bridge of hope and healing for hurting families, which offers effective, compassionate, treatment program for children of all ages. Helping them build new habits and healthier behaviors.”

The family allege their daughter was physically and emotionally abused while attending the ranch – including sometimes being forced to perform physical labor like 15-to-20 mile walks in the woods with no shoes.

The claims come after the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services removed more than two dozen children from the same facility last summer for reports of “serious allegations of egregious chronic and persistent child abuse and neglect.”

Several lawsuits following claim their children were treated similarly at the Lincoln County facility.
