Hill County hit-and-run victim identified

The Havre Herald reports that Lacey Kaide Arkinson of Rocky Boy has been identified as the teen who died after being hit by a vehicle on Thursday night.

Hill County Sheriff Jamie Ross released her name Monday.

Arkinson was hit by a dark-colored Dodge Journey at around 11 p.m., and the driver sped away. The suspect has not yet been identified or apprehended.

The FBI, Rocky Boy police, and other law enforcement agencies are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle is asked to call the police department at 406-395-4513.

(DECEMBER 13, 2019) A teen girl died after being hit by a vehicle on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation in Hill County on Thursday night, and the suspect has not yet been apprehended.

The Havre Herald reports that the 16-year-old girl was hit by a Dodge Journey minivan after she ran out into the intersection of Buttercup and Laredo roads at about 11 p.m., according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

The teen died at the scene; her name has not yet been released. The suspect drove away and remains at large.

MHP trooper Kade Hill said pieces of the suspect’s vehicle were found at the scene. The vehicle is believed to be dark-colored.

The MHP is handling the crash investigation, while tribal police and the FBI are investigating the criminal aspect of the case.
