Edward Dean Cassidy of Browning, who admitted to sexually molesting two children on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, was sentenced in federal court in Great Falls on Thursday.

Cassidy, 53, pleaded guilty in September to abusive sexual contact of a minor.

Court records say that from 2014 to 2016, Cassidy sexually molested two minor children, who were under the age of 12 years.

He was sentenced to 27 months in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, and also ordered to pay $442 restitution, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme said in a news release.

Court documents state the Cassidy was sentenced to the federal Bureau of Prisons "for a period of TIME SERVED on Count I and TIME SERVED on Count II, to run concurrently. The Defendant shall be placed on supervised release for a period of LIFE on Count I, and LIFE on Count II, to run concurrently."

U.S. District Judge Brian Morris presided.
