Dava Marie Mitchell-Alexander is facing several charges in Great Falls after she was reportedly caught driving with her daughter in a car that contained meth and drug paraphernalia.

A Montana Highway Patrol trooper stopped Alexander on December 10th for failing to signal. The trooper noted as he approached that the car "shook" as though the occupants were moving around.

Court documents allege that the driver, later identified as Alexander, appeared "nervous and her gaze was furtive." The trooper saw a teen girl on the rear floorboard tucked between the front and rear seats, and Alexander claimed that she didn't know the girl's name. Eventually, Alexander admitted that it was her 15-year old daughter, who was wanted on a juvenile probation warrant.

Alexander was arrested on unrelated charges. After she was read her Miranda rights, she admitted that the purse on the front seat was hers, despite initially denying it. Court documents state that after obtaining a search warrant, the trooper found multiple baggies with residue, two "snort straws," five needles, and two cook spoons - all items that are commonly associated with meth. In addition, a needle found in Alexander's purse was loaded with suspected meth.

In connection with this incident, Alexander has been charged with two felonies: endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal possession of dangerous drugs. She has also been charged with the following misdemeanors: obstructing a peace officer, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, driving with suspended/revoked license, and failure to wear a seatbelt.

Court documents state that Alexander has convictions for theft, criminal mischief, criminal contempt, and criminal trespass to property. She also has violated her release conditions four times.

Alexander was separately charged last week with kidnapping and assault; click here for details .
