Yellowstone County COVID-19 death toll rises to 112

BILLINGS - RiverStone Health reported Friday three additional Yellowstone County residents have died due to COVID-19 related illness.

The county's public health agency said in a press release that on Wednesday, Nov. 18, two women in their 60s died in Yellowstone County hospitals.

On Thursday, Nov. 19, a woman in her 80s died in a Yellowstone County hospital.

The agency said that to protect the privacy of the deceased and their families it will not release further information.

The three deaths are included in the Friday, Nov. 20 state COVID-19 tracking map.

“Our hearts go out the families and friends of these three Yellowstone County residents,” said John Felton, Yellowstone County Health Officer, President and CEO of RiverStone Health. “Especially as we enter the holiday season, the loss of loved ones is so difficult. To honor the memory of those lost to COVID-19, let us redouble our efforts to prevent more illness and death by wearing masks, physical distancing, avoiding crowds, washing hands, and staying home when ill.”

To date, 9,798 Yellowstone County residents have been infected with COVID-19 and 112 have died.

State health officials reported Friday Yellowstone County has 5,137 active cases of the virus. The state also reported there were 195 newly reported cases Friday in Yellowstone County.
