BOZEMAN — If you or someone you know has fully recovered from the coronavirus, they may be able to help others overcome it.
The American Red Cross and many different other health organizations are doing convalescent plasma transfers, which the CDC not only approves but recommends.
“Your plasma might be eligible to become convalescent plasma, which means that we can use your plasma that has those antibodies to help those who are in the process of recovering or battling the effects of COVID-19,” explained Diane Wright, the executive director of the Montana chapter of the American Red Cross.
The Red Cross automatically tests donor blood to see if those antibodies are present and if the donor qualifies.
