No, Montana Highway Patrol troopers won't stop and ask people for permits if they're driving somewhere during the statewide stay-at-home directive.
But they are urging people to stay at home as much as possible. And if they make an emergency call because they're worried they're sick, please let dispatchers know of a possible COVID-19 illness in advance.
The Montana Highway Patrol posted guidelines on its Twitter page Friday night:

The stay-at-home directive was announced by Gov. Steve Bullock Thursday with the goal of curbing the spread of COVID-19, the disese caused by the coronavirus.
