MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) reports that 47 additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since the Wednesday update.

The number of active cases has dropped from 726 on Wednesday to 695. Twenty-three of the active cases, as well as one of the reported new COVID-19 cases, are associated with the Universtiy of Montana.

MCCHD noted on Thursday on Dec. 8 that eight previously reported confirmed cases have been classified as duplicative cases and are no longer included in the cumulative case total.

The health department has switched to a new data collection software so "some data points may be unavailable for a short period of time."

It was announced on Dec. 7 that Community Medical Center and Providence Saint Patrick in Missoula will be among the first health care centers to get the COVID-19 vaccine -- possibly as early as Dec. 15.

MCCHD announced on Dec. 4 that the drive-thru COVID-19 testing center located on Flynn Lane will now be accepting weekend appointments.

The Missoula City-County Board of Health updated the local COVID-19 restrictions on Nov. 19.
