Missoula County reports 20 new cases, additional COVID-19 related death

MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) reports an additional 20 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since the Wednesday update.

An additional COVID-19 related death has also been confirmed in Missoula County. No further information has been released.

The number of active COVID-19 cases stands has fallen from 198 on Wednesday to 194.

One of the new cases as well as 12 of the currently active cases are associated with the University of Montana.

The total number of confirmed cases in Missoula County stands at 7,771 including 7,495 recoveries and 82 deaths.

MCCHD reports the number of COVID-19 related hospitalizations remains at 17 and includes nine county residents.

The average of daily new cases per 100,000 has dipped to 22. The MCCHD goal is to bring that number down to 25/100,000 people for two consecutive weeks or more.

The Board of Health announced on Jan. 21 that there will be an easing of several of the COVID-19 restrictions in place for Missoula County.

Missoula County residents can call 406-258-INFO weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 information.
