Madison Co. nursing home staff member tests positive for COVID-19

SHERIDAN — An employee at the Tobacco Root Mountains Care Center in Sheridan has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a press release from Madison County officials, the employee was not symptomatic and the facility is working with the Madison County Public Health and Human Services to ensure proper precautionary measures are being taken.

All residents, their families, their representatives and staff members will be informed of the situation. In addition, testing and monitoring of the residents and employees will begin.

Melissa Brummell, Director of Madison County Public Health, reported that all of the individuals in close contact with the new case are being notified and will be required to take specific precautions for the appropriate period of time. At this time health officials are not disclosing the employee's name or residence.
