Big Horn County announces 10 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

Big Horn County announced 10 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the active caste total to 221 in the county.

All of the newly-confirmed cases presented with symptoms when tested. One patient was tested as a result of contact with a patient that was previously confirmed positive, while nine patients likely contracted the virus through community spread, as there are no known contacts with previous cases at this time.

The new cases are as follows:

A female age 10-19, one female and one male in their 20s, a female in her 30s, a female in her 40s, a male in his 50s, two females in their 60s, and a female and a male in their 70s.

Recoveries in Big Horn County remained at 134, with 11 deaths. Of the 212 active cases, 206 patients are quarantining and recovering at home, while six patients are hospitalized.

A seven-day moving average is used to smooth the wild fluctuations of the individual daily data to show the trend. The largest period of growth began just over two weeks ago on July 17, when Big Horn County was averaging 3.29 new cases per day. On Aug. 3, Big Horn County is averaging 19.29 newly-confirmed cases of COVID-19 per day.
