According to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map, Montana added two additional cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
Saturday’s data raises the total number of cases confirmed in the state to 467. The state is reporting 468 cases because one case is attributed to a Jefferson County resident.
Jefferson Co. health officials reported on Monday afternoon that the case involved a man in his 50’s who has not been in the state for several weeks. They added that the case was not acquired in Montana and the man has not been in contact with anyone in Montana.
The state count also does not include 3 COVID-19 cases confirmed last week in Custer County; each of those cases is an out-of-state resident and therefore not included in the state's total. All three individuals currently remain in Montana under quarantine.
State data shows 673 new tests completed, for a total of 26,091 as of Saturday, and 431 people recovered.
There have been 16 deaths in Montana to date. There have been six deaths in Toole County, two in Cascade County, two in Flathead County, two in Yellowstone County, and one each in Gallatin County, Lincoln County, Madison County, and Missoula County.
