HELENA — Carroll College formally inaugurated Dr. Jennifer Glowienka as the school’s 20th president, marking a historic milestone as she becomes the first woman fully appointed president in the college’s history.
The ceremony in Helena brought together students, faculty, community leaders, and members of Catholic higher education to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter for the college. The event featured remarks from campus leaders along with performances by the Helena Symphony and Carroll College choirs.
Glowienka, who has served Carroll College for more than 23 years in teaching and leadership roles, said she is honored to lead the institution moving forward.
“First, I'm just really proud to be the new 20th president of Carroll College,” Glowienka said. “It is an honor to be able to serve the institution that I have served for over 23 years.”
Glowienka also reflected on the leaders who came before her and said she hopes to continue building on Carroll’s foundation.
“There have been many wonderful presidents that have come before me and have taught me a lot, and I look forward to following in their footsteps and to helping Carroll thrive into the future,” she said.
While the inauguration marked a personal achievement, Glowienka emphasized the importance of the broader Carroll community and the college’s mission.
“This moment is not so much about me as it is about this particular community and the power of the type of education that we provide for our students,” Glowienka said.
Glowienka said she feels both proud and humbled to take on the role and is committed to supporting the students, faculty and staff who make the college successful.
“I will do my absolute best to carry Carroll College forward and to support all of the people who make this place how great it is,” she said.
The inauguration marks the beginning of a new era for Carroll College as Glowienka officially steps into leadership of the Helena-based institution.
