BOZEMAN, Mont. — A Belgrade man is facing felony sexual assault charges involving a minor under the age of 16.
Glenn B. Belnap, 33, was seen in Gallatin County Justice Court on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019. Judge Bryan Adams set Belnap’s bond at $5,000 and ordered the man to wear a GPS monitor at all times.
According to charging documents, Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Department of Health and Human Services regarding a student at a Gallatin County school. Detectives began the investigation after learning of multiple teachers expressed concern for the student, multiple reports of the child’s well being and a school therapist’s belief that the child was being exposed to “unreasonable physical or psychological harm.”
Due to the child disclosing to three separate people that Belnap allegedly touched the child’s private area, recent sexualized behavior, and recent incontinence, Belnap was arrested.
If convicted, he could face up to $50,000 in fines.
Belnap could also face a minimum of four years to 100 years or life in prison.
Belnap also cannot come into contact with anyone under the age of 18.
He also cannot be within 500 feet of the victim anywhere, and he cannot be in his home if anyone under the age of 18 is inside the same home anywhere.
Belnap’s next court appearance is set for Dec. 6.
