BELGRADE, Mont. – A Harrison woman could be looking at jail time after Belgrade Police say she tried to close an officer’s arm in her window when he was trying to arrest her.

This all happened at about 10 o’clock on Thursday night.

According to court documents, a Belgrade police officer recognized Chonda Venezuela for being on probation while she was leaving Montana Lill’s casino.

Venezuela was not allowed to be in casinos because of her probation.

While the officer was checking her probation, Venezuela put her car into gear and tried to drive away.

Court documents show the officer tried to stop her by putting his hand in her car window when she closed it — causing minor injury.

Another officer parked his patrol car in front of her’s to prevent Venezuela from leaving.

Venezuela is charged with assaulting an officer and having a dangerous drug after officers found hydrocodone in her purse without a prescription.

Venezuela’s bail was set at $25,000.
