BUTTE – If you’re looking for something to do this weekend in Butte you can try a food festival with a Balkan flavor.
The Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church is hosting a Serbian food festival at its church off on Continental Drive Saturday, which will feature Serbian music and food from baklava to sarma. Proceeds from the event will go to repairs to the church, which is famous for its lavishly painted frescoes on the walls and ceiling.
“So in order to make sure they last forever we need to put a new roof on our church and put insulation that will protect those frescoes,” said Lisa Vucurovich who is helping coordinate the event.
The event is free and runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday
