Texas man sentenced for sexual battery in Yellowstone National Park

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A Texas man has been sentenced to prison after being charged last year with aggravated sexual abuse in Yellowstone National Park.

According to a press release and court documents, Micah Nathanial Heck, 25, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of sexual battery for an incident that occurred Sept. 3, 2017 in an concessionaire employee dormitory in the Old Faithful area of the park. 

He was sentenced on July 20 in U.S. District Court in Cheyenne, Wyo. to serve one year in prison followed by one year of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $1,602.75 in restitution and a $25 court fee.

Heck, who is from Claude, Texas, must also register as a sex offender.
