BOZEMAN – A Bozeman woman who was allegedly driving drunk with a 5-year-old child in her vehicle was arrested Saturday, June 2.
Stacey Lynn Redstar, 32, was seen in Gallatin County Justice Court Monday morning and was charged with criminal child endangerment. Redstar’s bail was set at $35,000. Redstar could face up to a $50,000 fine and up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
According to charging documents, at 12:45 a.m. Saturday, a Bozeman Police Officer pulled a vehicle over after seeing it drive westbound on Main Street without headlights. The officers determined that Redstar had been driving and noticed an unrestrained child in the backseat.
Redstar admitted to consuming alcohol and failed the field sobriety tests. She refused to provide a breath sample.
A driver’s history check showed Redstar to have 2 previous DUI convictions within 10 years, one in 2012 and one in 2012.
Redstar’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 29.
