BOZEMAN – The Montana State Horse Show Association (MSHSA) hosted its first horse show of the year Saturday at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds.
About 25 horses and their trainers practiced different riding styles in the Indoor Arena at the fairgrounds.
Riders came from all over Montana, including Helena, Belgrade, and Laurel. Cheri Clark has been helping MSHSA with these events for over 20 years and for this event served as the secretary. She believes events like these are extremely beneficial to riders because Montana’s riding season only goes from May to October.
"So these shows are really important, especially the younger horses that are not seasoned show horses. This is how they get seasoned is in these small open shows," said Clark.
