Saturday evening update on I-15 CLOSURE between Boulder and Clancy…

Montana Department of Transportation reports that a single lane of I-15 has re-opened for South bound only traffic between Boulder and Clancy.

Unfortunately, Northbound traffic is still completely CLOSED as of Saturday evening and you will need to find an alternate route. Other options include US 287 from Three Forks to Helena or US 12 from Garrison to Helena.

The reason for the closure is due to a culvert failure that started on Friday evening that runs beneath the interstate near Jefferson City.

First Report Friday Night:

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Interstate 15 is CLOSED starting at 8:37 pm Friday night.

Both North and South bound lanes are closed around mile marker 175 which is just South of Jefferson City.

The reason for the closure is due to a washed out culvert that passes under the interstate.

Montana Department of Transportation is on the scene and is assessing the situation to see how dangerous this is to travel safety.

For now Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is asking everyone to stay away and let emergency crews and transportation officials work the situation to hopefully resolve this issue.
